This copyrighted design, with a skull-and crossbones motif over a basketball with the words “Detroit Bad Boys” was a collaboration with his art director Robin Brant.

The Detroit Pistons acquired the reputation as being “Bad Boys” late in the 1987-88 season.  They entered training camp in the 88-89 season with a renewed focus and determination “to win it all.”  The key players established a set of rules and a style of play that demanded physical and mental toughness from every teammate. Every player had a role and they “stuck to the script.”  The “Bad Boys” were born and the rest is history.

The Detroit Bad Boys won  back-to back championships in 1989 and 1990. The Bad Boys are the Detroit Pistons; they were the “baddest” team in the National Basketball Association.
